What are Normal Blood Glucose Levels ?

People
with diabetes should have a thorough
understanding of normal blood glucose levels and
should monitor fasting blood glucose level every
morning. In general, the normal glucose level
for diabetics is approximately between 4 and 7
mmol/L or between 72 and 126 mg/dL.

The aforementioned normal blood glucose ranges
for a non-diabetic person can be used as
guidelines to tightly control after-meal glucose
levels by adjusting diet, insulin or oral
medications and after-meal exercise. This
treatment is extensively explained with a

Diabetes raises the risk for heart disease and
high blood pressure and so diabetics should also
monitor cholesterol and blood pressure at the

By measuring the Hemoglobin A1c level in the bloodstream, it is
possible to know the average blood glucose level and the degree to
which it has been controlled over the preceding 90 days. All
diabetics are required to monitor their A1c level once every 3
months in order to make certain that their diabetes has been tightly
controlled. If the diabetes has been tightly controlled during the
preceding 90 days, the normal A1c level for diabetics should be below 7% or 0.07. The A1c
